Once again we near the time
when money grows on trees
the festive season comes so quick
but for some it aint no breeze.

Money has to be spent
be it credit, loans or cash
gifts cost the Earth these days
but try not to be rash.

We always try yearly
to give our kids the best
but finances strained, money tight
for adults comes the test.

These days things cost the Earth
not like they did yesteryear
the surprise we had opening our gifts
whilst shedding a happy tear.

But for kids today it has to be big
or sadness fills the air
laptops, games and mp3's
if they don't get them then life isn't fair.

But for the poorest of families
credit is a must
shops all give but get more in return
interest charged in disgust.

Paying for years for a Happy time
may be the only way
try to be frugal but enjoy the time
and have a happy day.

As we near the festive period again its a time when people borrow to the hilt to give their kids a Happy Christmas, many poor families have no choice but to get credit to pay for their day, sadly its in your face, on tv, newspapers, radio, you cannot escape it, and everyone wants the very best for their kids at Christmas, but at what cost?

Do you spend a lot at Christmas?

In a World of uncertainty
man comes together
children still suffer
and will do forever.

Millions of hearts
beat as one
to allow our children
to have some fun.

Disease is rife
poverty high
money pours in
but we still cry.

The money is used
to give kids a chance
to help them survive
their life to enhance.

Support is out there
 give for the cause
so for kids in the UK
there may be Santa Claus.

Centres are created
to make life a breeze
for kids with cerebral palsy
to help the disease.

So please give generously
to this worthwhile affair
to the people of Britain

Today is Children in need day, a time when we dig deep to give for this awsome cause, its hard to believe that poverty stlll exists in this day and age, but sadly it does, this cause is strictly for our kids so we need to dig deep.

Lovers meet on a train
just a simmering chance
the music softly playing
no room to dance.

Clicking of the wheels
steam covered windows
never really knowing
that love truly grows.

Sitting on the chair
no view outside
her perfume floating wildly
carriage to carriage inside.

The dim lit cafe
were we used to meet
only a few people
sat in their seat.

The tea is warm
no one really cares
about our meetings
only a woman stares.

The time flies by
trains have stopped
the streaks on the floor
were the cleaner mops.

Love found by chance
but cannot progress
both parties married
feeling the stress.

We finally say goodbye
the end of the game
it would never work
no one to blame.

Guess the movie time again folks, this one is easy, so go on give it a go....

In two great Wars
many lost their lives
families were fatherless
husbands lost wives.

Wars celebrate heroes
today was the day
asked to fight for democracy
for freedom all the way.

Soldiers who had fought
were respected on this day
many graves unmarked
lost in the foray.

We will never forget
what they did for us
our Countries have flourished
that is obvious.

Poppy day is a tradition
to remind us who we lost
and to respect their braveness
for lives it had cost.

Not forgetting soldiers
who fight in foreign lands
in conflict for freedom
who's lives are in their hands.

So salute these brave people
who fight without remorse
trained to protect people
publicly we endorse.

Friends it is Remembrance day,a time to remember the many men and women who fought two World Wars and the men and women who STILL fight wars in foreign countries. We salute all of you.

Please give generously to the poppy appeal :)

Way back in the fifties
single Mothers were few
you had to be married
if pregnancy went through.

Women were spurned
if promiscuous in that day
tongues would wag hurtingly
people had a lot to say.

Children freely aborted
by women too scared
the stigma overbearing
if they were not prepared.

Abortions performed illegally
in dirty back streets
the methods often gruesome
no doctors there to treat.

Many women died
rather than face a life
de botched operations performed
often by someone's wife.

This all happened for real
imagine if it was today?
it would be called MURDER
the amateurs would surely pay.

Was watching a drama the other night on TV called Vera Drake, a touching tale of the early fifties when a woman took it upon herself to perform backstreet abortions using primitive methods, it came to light when one of her, customers, ended up in hospital, the Woman was ignorant as another lady who put her in touch with the girls was making money out of the abortions, very sad, but it did happen, in an age were women could not have kids out of wedlock. The lady got 2 years, this was drama but probably true to life in those days.

Do you agree with abortion?

Bangers, rockets and wheels
in a foray of exploding noise
kids quietly impressed
as if they were all toys.

Impressive shapes and sizes
sparkling in the wind
rockets rising for miles
catherine wheels pinned.

A bonfire glowing wildly
sparks and embers shooting
nothing taken for granted
sirens plucked for hooting.

Displayed with apt music
a symphony of violins
the guy burning harmoniously
eating potato skins.

Children shaking sparklers
clad in warm hats
adults supervising
fireworks exploding in spats.

What an amazing night
everyone content
in a safe ,happy environment
money well spent.

The rush of an organized fireworks display is awsome ;)

Have you been to a display? or do you have your own?

Students protest at LSE

What is the point
of being educated?
costing the Earth
sense descicrated.

Hundreds of youngsters
clever and bright
might find the budgets
terribly tight!

Whats wrong with this Government
are they going mad?
crippling all around us
making us mad?

Muggings are rife ,old folks scared
murder is common, issues are flared
alcohol rampant, drugs are abused
jails full of people guilty, accused.

Shopkeepers terrified, windows are barred
faces all torn ,ripped or scarred
children are hanging around all night
facing all people ,often they fight.

Anti- social behaviour alive in our day
people are nervous and dare not say
Police are overstretched, taxes are high
does anyone care? except you and I?

Gangs hanging around streets, young folks with too much time on thier hands, and whos fault is it? thiers? ours? well its partly both, we were all young at one time, high unemployment, nothing for the kids to do causes a lot of anti social behaviour, what can we do? Educate the kids further give them reasons to be alive, jobs, activities, there are an element of young people who do nothing to cause grief so we must also respect that not all youngsters cause Anti social behaviour.

Are you or someone you know affected by this? would love your views..

In a time of war
buisness suffered
money was tight
society buffered.

Germanic factories
worked day and night
making weapons
for the military to fight.

A high class businessman
hungered for wealth
paid poor wages
thought of himself.

Where do all the months go?
you blink and another one ends
one moment you are in summer
out walking with your friends.

Then comes Autumn
when colors come alive
leaves turn a subtle red
only the hardy will survive.

Too soon comes winter
when things turn cold
bitter winds howl all day
scarves and gloves are sold.

Sunday comes and goes
you get everything done
hopefully you are prepared
before the setting sun.

The day was really relaxin
just you and a glass of wine
you dont even think about Monday
it sends shivers down your spine.

Sunday evenin comes
and you get a feeling of dread
nearly time to say goodbye
to Sunday then head for bed.

You wake up in the morning
turning the alarm of several times
but finally you throw the covers
to the sound of alarm chimes.

Still half asleep you stumble
heading for the shower
wishing you won the lottery
while battling the waters power.

Then you head for the kitchen
eyes still glazed shut
reaching for the coffee cup
scratchin your itchy butt.

The news as always is dreadful
listening with only one ear
you think about the day ahead
dreading it with fear.

Once you become almost human
you leave the comfort of home
get in the car and drive away
with a mouthful of toothpaste foam.

Mondays are a dread for all
its weird how you perceive this
but the rest of the week aint better
except for the weekend you miss.

Everyone dreads a Monday morning, do not understand why, because the rest of the working week isnt any better, but its Monday we all dread after a great weekend.

Do you like Mondays?
