DAILY POEM " LONG WINTER NIGHTS"

As the long nights draw in
and the cold begins to bite
the kids cannot go out
so they begin to fight.

The video games started
the tv's roaring loud
dads in the sitting room
the dog is sitting proud.

Central heating on full blast
preparing to do its job
kids in and out all the time
coffee on the hob.

Nothing on the TV
bored out of your mind
paper read, crossword complete
nothing more to find.

Early night is on the cards
maybe with a good book
curtains blowing with the draught
to scared to take a look.

Tucked up in bed, nice and warm
nothing will get you out
two chapters read of your book
what the hell was it about?

Not much to do on long cold winter nights, the kids do their own thing, we try to do ours lol, sometimes you just want to do something different, but you are always drawn in to the easier things in life.

DAILY POEM "WILL IT GET ANY BETTER"?

When you waken each day
you hope it will shine
you will conquer the World
and say its all "mine"

Be positive all day
try not to forget
that life is good
and its what you will get.

There are people worse off
even in this new age
poor and starving
boiling with rage.

They have nothing to live for
no hope , no aid
no guardian angel
their lives just fade.

There is money out there
but its owned by the few
in one hundred lifetimes
it may never be YOU.

Be content you are warm
in your two up, two down
food in your bellies
enough water to drown!

In this time of uncertainty
of financial stress
Countries are toiling
people earn less.

No work for the young
so they waste away
nothing to do
by night or day.

Crime at its highest
they take what they see
no care for the law
nothings for free!

When will it end
when we are all dead?
so we need to get a grip
and listen to what's said.

Financial strain, families on the poverty line, the rich getting richer, fat cats all over the World, kids facing high unemployment, nothing to do, no one taking on apprenticeships because the Government are cutting jobs, were will it all end? do we see a rosy future? I think not.

DAILY POEM " A SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS"

What's going on in this World
unhappiness and unrest
no matter were you are
it has been sent to test.

Civil wars rue the day
Governments try to control
but people are not lying down
or taking a leisurely stroll.

At home the news isnt rosy
as unemployment strikes a new high
while reforms on benefits strengthen
all you can do is sigh.

Money is getting scarce
families hit the breadline
coming nearer is Christmas
not all will have a good time.

So with civil war and financial ruin
Countries can take no more
its about time something was done
to try to even the score.

I see the World crumbling
as the Years float on by
unless we take a stand
at least give it a try.

Soon there will be nothing left
to leave humanity alive
we need to have unity
in order that we strive.

Every time you pick up a newspaper, watch the tv or listen to the radio its all doom and gloom, countries in the brink of Civil wars, financial ruin, and every disaster we can imagine.
We are the ones who make the World turn and we are responsible for its outcome, and the way we are going it could mean the end sooner than we think..

DAILY POEM "THE MAN BAG"

I cant go anywhere without you
I need you in my life
feel naked when your not around me
your as close as my dear wife.

I fill you with lots of goodies
trapped in darkness for hours
you keep my bananas fresh
and protect my food from showers.

My man bag is such a treasure
I take good care of it
I'm careful what I put inside you
try not to fill you with s"£$t.

As the deodorant rattles with pleasure
the pens all jump for joy
you can only go with a man to work
not a girl or a little boy.

I hope you last forever
into my golden age
and if anyone decides to slag you
I will blow up in a rage.

More and more these days men have "man bags" usually a satchel, we take it everywhere we go, especially to work, this is a bit of fun for any guy who carries a man bag :)

DAILY POEM "CHILDREN IN NEED" 2011

As we near the eventful night
when charity comes alive
making money for our children
to help them flourish and thrive.

Celebrities donate their time
to entertain us on the night
the public raise millions
even those out of sight.

In a World of money being scarce
when we face financial strain
this night brings out the generous
seeing sunshine through the rain.

The Great British Public are ready
to make our children smile
by donating what they can afford
it makes it all worthwhile.

For those who spend their time
in this worthwhile cause
we take our hats off to you
and give you a round of applause.

Children shouldn't be starving
in this day and age
or brought up in poverty
at a very early stage.

Money isn't everything
but we need it to live each day
but for those who have nothing
they do not have a say!

Dig deep fellow humanity
even if it is only a small amount
your money is doing a great deed
on this our children count.

Well folks its that time of Year, Children in need, a time for us all to dig deep , a time to help our kids get a fighting chance in life. Money is tight, we are all suffering these days, but there are always people worse off than YOU, so be generous this Year people, let the World see we look after our own, as we do Year in Year out.

"REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY" LEST WE NEVER FORGET.

Remembrance Sunday, a day when we pay homage to the men and women who have fought and died for the freedom of our Country in every conflict.
The Service was outstanding, the Survivors of WW2 led the parade proudly showing their flags in tribute, the scene was set, the military marched in precision, the navy, the cadets all of the armed forces , including Public Services such as the Police, fire-fighters, and ambulance crews came today to show respect.
The reefs were laid in the church grounds.

DAILY POEM "YOU DO ME PROUD"

Private Stephanie Manson.

You watch them grow
from a tiny seed
their first steps
a mouth to feed.

Watch them get educated
be there when they hurt
keep boys at bay
when they try to flirt.

Be their banker
drive them around
keep them polite
safe and sound.

When they mature
you are still proud
putting up with music
that's very loud.

You hope they do well
in their later years
be there to comfort them
dry those tears.

Life may not always work
as they live day by day
but give them the power
to have their say.

At the end of the day
you love your own
even though sometimes
you grump and groan.

The choice was made
and here we are
joining the British Army
has raised the bar.

I am  a VERY proud Father, my daughter has joined the British Territorial Army, she decided this was going to be her career path, still in the early days of training, she has passed All of her tests thus far, she works very hard, All the family are very proud of her achievements and will support her throughout her career.

DAILY POEM "CALL ME MISTER VAIN"

He glares into the mirror
admiring what he sees
just out of the shower
feeling the "bees knees"

Up an hour early
to go through his ritual tasks
he would even forfeit breakfast
if any one asks!

His hair must be perfect
as he dawns his aftershave gel
spent hours at the mirror
only he can tell.

Then comes the straighteners
they should be heated by now
it looks like he is running late
his boss will "have a cow"

Standing at the mirror
he sweeps and sorts his hair
without a care in the World
knowing no one will stop and stare.

One hour and five minutes later
looking good and ready to roll
stepping out the front door
succeeding with his goal.

These days Boys/men are very concerned by the way they look, so much so they take as long, if not longer than a woman to get ready these days, spending ages in front of mirrors until they get the look 100 percent bang on, bet there are lots of fights as to who gets to the mirror first..

DAILY POEM "MISS NOBODY"

She walks the streets of London
Her hair matted, straw dry
a face yellow and jaundiced
It would make a fellow human cry.

No one dared approach her
She scowled then roared like a bear
This was her defence for survival
gullible, no defence, unfair.

Begging at every street corner
trying to survive each day
no one ever communicated
nothing they could say.

She walked all day, slept at night
One eye open at all times
did this girl deserve this life?
A lass involved with crimes?

An existence going sadly unnoticed
Everyone would pass her in disgust
How could anyone live this way?
in the depths of despair being thrust..

Labelled without even knowing her
Assumptions made by the way she appeared
Maybe the reason she lived this way
Could be something in her past she feared?

No one bothered, no one cared
as she ploughed on with her life
no kind word, no respect
just a life full of despair and strife.

She still walks the streets of London
Growling at everyone in sight
Probably she will die in her current demise
no stamina, self respect, or fight.

More and more each day the homeless list grows, some choose that way of life, whilst others have no choice.Young kids being forced on the streets for all reasons, trying to get away from abuse, or parents who simply do not care.

DAILY POEM "LIVING IN A NEGATIVE WORLD"

Do you see YOU
as I see you
broken and scarred
feeling blue.

You wake each day
negativity rules your head
feelings of hatred
wishing you were dead.

Black clouds above you
follow you all day
barking and growling
need to have your way.

Never listen to anyone
you are always right
making things dark
when they should be bright.

Your way or no way
opinions never count
the glass half full
no numbers to count.

No respect for you
the World is a mess
harder and harder
your worth becomes less.

Cannot find love
no one will come near
your inability to love
you cannot shed a tear.

When the time comes
when you depart this World
your bitterness unfolds
deepness unfurled.

Alone in death
as you were in life
you never knew goodness
just trouble and strife.

There are so many negative people out there today, people who only see black, people who never see the real life others have, their negative existence rules their heart, which makes them who they are.
Fortunately they are in minority, but we come across these people in our daily lives.

Do you know someone  the above poem describes?
