DAILY POEM "SWEETER TIMES"

We all remember our childhood
some will try to forget
unless you were brought up in happier times
memories you will get.

Like the time you spent at school
the friends you met, in that day
school dinners were all so memorable
but not that good they say.

DAILY POEM "AM I A BOY OR GIRL"?

Born in an accepting Society
were everything is the norm
no one cares about issues
or whether you have form.

Growing up was not easy
trapped in this alien being
I wanted to be one thing
my body needed freeing.

DAILY POEM "THE BARGE"

Icy cold winds
battering the sides
the drone is trembling
as the barge glides.

Its our watery home
we have known no other
never settled on land
never needed to bother.

DAILY POEM "THEN OR NOW"?

When we were young
we wanted to be old
forget our education
as we were bold.

When we were at school
we would rather have been earning
make lots of money
longing and yearning.

DAILY POEM "LARGER THAN LIFE"

I cannot help the way I was born
it isn't that I eat too much
my body cannot reduce fat
it is the way as such..

Larger than I wish to be
people do not see my inner heart
they only see this bulking body
so they ridicule to start.

DAILY POEM " THE AGONY WE BEAR"

When we are born
we have none to chew
as we don't eat solids
our gums will do.

When we get older
they cause us pain
entering our mouth
protruding in vain.

DAILY POEM "A VILLAGE OF SUBSTANCE"

My village.

Its like any other Village
tranquil, sedate, at times
nothing really happens here
never major crimes.

Characters are aplenty
many appear each day
often having a laugh
having much to say.

DAILY POEM "TEMPER TEMPER"

Day by day we are faced with confrontation
be it by people we know or do not
how do we reply when faced with it
we give it everything we got.

Some shout loudly, some cry
tempers flare ,gets out of hand
then comes the silence
they don't understand.

DAILY POEM HIV "AS THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES"

As we start another Year
we give hope to many new things
research into disease
and a cure we hope it brings.

Cancer is still a killer
although caught in time may be healed
but in the heart of Africa
HIV is being concealed.

DAILY POEM "BLACK HISTORY MONTH" from the beginning.

Born into a beautiful Country
were life was simple but free
the warmth of the sun overpowering
its were I wanted to be.

The villages were poor
not much food to eat
fish were caught in the river
the men hunted for meat.

DAILY POEM " A KING OF KINGS"

King Henry V111
He was born in 1491
clever for his age
Prince Henry was popular
would always engage.

Growing up he had a fool
to amuse him when he was bored
amongst his sport was jousting
and to his peers adored.

DAILY POEM "WINTERS END IS NEAR"

The first sign of Spring
is close at hand
temperatures will rise
warmth will be grand.

Daffodils peep
from solid soil
fighting hard
ready to toil.

Shrubs with buds
fattening each day
skies turning sunny
not always Grey.

DAILY POEM "THE LIFEBOAT"

The waves dashed fiercely
bodies tossed heads up
all alone a singular vessel
like a wild straying pup.
Thirteen souls afloat
in a wooden sanctuary
not knowing were it was going
no one knew what day.
No food or supplies had been saved
just people still in a trance
from the old to the young
thrown together in circumstance.
The ship had sunk days ago
the lifeboats went down bar one
only one remained intact
floating in the blazing sun.
One man had taken charge
as excitement dulled common sense
the female passengers crying
no one coming to their defence.
He tried to gather order
as screams of terror flew
this was in desperation
from a terrified motley crew.
Injured people holding wounds
crying with pain
others tried to comfort them
battered by the rain.
For many days they travelled
praying they would sight land
patience and good fortune
witnessed by the slight of hand.
Out of all the ships passengers
only thirteen would survive
starving and half dead
lucky to be alive.
Eventually land had been sighted
for some they would never forget
never taking anything for granted
no sadness or regret.
The lifeboat now stood lonely
it had saved so many lives
fathers ,sons and daughters
husbands sisters and wives.
The moral of this story
is work hard as a team
survival is for the fittest
it isnt just a dream.

Watched a movie this morning before going to work called "the lifeboat" which inspired me to write this little piece.

If you were marooned on a desert Island what would you hope to have with you?

DAILY POEM "PATIENCE FACTOR"

We all look for someone to blame
when things never go right
pick arguments and snipe all day
lay in readiness  to have a fight.

So why do we act so cross?
especially to the ones we love
partners falling out
putting on a boxing glove.

At times tempers can flare
we are all human after all
life isnt all glam and happiness
as if you are having a ball.

Situations arise each day
and for some they cannot cope
they look to the person in their sites
and explode in a kaleidoscope.

The answer is count to ten
before you explode in wrath
so people around you get the chance
to get out of your path.

Emotions, some can control
are able to laugh or cry
but for many the stress is too much
it could be you or I!.

Human emotions are intricate, some are cool, some are tetchy, some lose it, some dont, its interesting trying to evaluate what category we all fall into..

What category do you fall into??
