DAILY POEM "ITS ALL FOR ONE DAY"

Traffic horrendous
people rushing around
shops fit to busting
more gifts found.

Santa breathing heavy
not long to go
lists from children
in a steady flow.

Panic in the streets
last minute deals
perfume half price
a third of heels.

Its a shame we all panic
this time of the Year
adults in a state
shedding a tear.

What we need to remember
its only for one day
so calm down, relax
ignore the foray.

Stocked up food
supermarket queues
all for one day
feeling the blues.

Almost a week later
its all in the past
why did you panic?
run yourself ragged fast?

We all love Christmas
it comes every Year
as we dodge the traffic
and sweat with fear.

Enjoy your time
you can relax now
you finally did it
wipe your brow.

The sheer chaos Christmas causes is laughable, we all run riot, getting that last minute present, forgetting the batteries for the kids toys, we boldly go were no man has gone before, into shops so busy you can't breathe, and at the end of the day we realise, its all for ONE DAY...
people panic buy groceries because they think they won't get any for a while, when all along the shops are only closed for ONE day...
These are my observations and I bet every one recognizes and relates to this poem...

Enjoy your festive period...

DAILY POEM " CHRISTMAS IS A COMIN"

It's coming to that time of Year
when everyone shares a cup o cheer
the purse comes out, wallets thin
shopkeepers chant and always win.

Kids make a list, parents are scared
wondering how the credit card fared
Santas grotto lookin good
elves and reindeer eat their food.

But spare a thought for the less well off
no money to spend ,unlike a "toff"
toys will be scarce, food as well
Christmas time seems a lot like hell.

Children crying with a sore belly
no playstation hifi or even a telly
content with anything they get this year
while mum and dad shed a tear.

Poverty is rife all year round
nothing to eat, no money found
appreciation of the little they get
feeling left out ,a day to forget.

So while you have a wonderful day
eating your dinner, warm all the way
save a thought for the hard up guys
Santa won't be coming, no mince pies.

We spend millions at Christmas every year, whether its on the never never, credit, or cash, but we all have a wonderful time, or do we? these days millions of families are living on the breadline, they cannot afford to eat let alone have a Merry Christmas, share a though for them..

DAILY POEM GUESS THE MOVIE (26) "SHE SEEKS REVENGE"

Trusted by his peers
responsible for life
patients in his care
and a dotting wife.

He was never shy at all
and sometimes went too far
his female patients were concerned
left with an emotional scar.

Then his dirty deeds got out
he was struck off and faced ridicule
one of his patients reported him
caught, unmasked, uncool.

Faced with embarrassment
he took his life
leaving many debts
and an angry wife.

Later that Year
his wife lost her son
determined to reek revenge
on the woman who won.

She took a job
to be closer to her prey
she looked after the family
and planned by day.

Bit by bit she plotted
every step of the way
she would have her blood
and enjoy the foray.

In the end she tried
to kill his wife
by hiding her medication
to end her life.

Eventually she was found out
and it all hit the fan
she slept with the husband
a gullible man.

A disturbed lady of evil
never succeeded with her goal
out cold in the greenhouse
with an unbalanced soul.

Here we are friends, long time awaiting, guess the movie, one of my all time favourites, go on have a go, It isn't a difficult one, but then I always say that lol..

DAILY POEM "INVITED TO A DARK PLACE"

I'm invited to a dark place
I think that I should go
nothing here to keep me
no room to blossom or grow.

A place  dark and endless
naked bodies all around
deadened eyes blackened
void of any sound.

Walking on for miles
nothing can be seen
touching ice cold humans
were have they been?

The air is full of stench
nothing wastes away
living on forever
no one wants to stay.

Round and around we go
no doors open here
just the feeling of remorse
dread and fear.

The only time it ends
is if your lucky to see the light
but there's always something around
you can never try to fight.

I'm invited to a dark place
I think I will not go
as witnessed in my darkest hour
I will continue to grow.

If you ever suffered from some sort of depression in your life you will relate to this poem, more and more people these days suffer from depression and find dark days in their lives, always fighting to see the light, sometimes they do, other times they feel they will always be in the dark.

DAILY POEM " LONG WINTER NIGHTS"

As the long nights draw in
and the cold begins to bite
the kids cannot go out
so they begin to fight.

The video games started
the tv's roaring loud
dads in the sitting room
the dog is sitting proud.

Central heating on full blast
preparing to do its job
kids in and out all the time
coffee on the hob.

Nothing on the TV
bored out of your mind
paper read, crossword complete
nothing more to find.

Early night is on the cards
maybe with a good book
curtains blowing with the draught
to scared to take a look.

Tucked up in bed, nice and warm
nothing will get you out
two chapters read of your book
what the hell was it about?

Not much to do on long cold winter nights, the kids do their own thing, we try to do ours lol, sometimes you just want to do something different, but you are always drawn in to the easier things in life.

DAILY POEM "WILL IT GET ANY BETTER"?

When you waken each day
you hope it will shine
you will conquer the World
and say its all "mine"

Be positive all day
try not to forget
that life is good
and its what you will get.

There are people worse off
even in this new age
poor and starving
boiling with rage.

They have nothing to live for
no hope , no aid
no guardian angel
their lives just fade.

There is money out there
but its owned by the few
in one hundred lifetimes
it may never be YOU.

Be content you are warm
in your two up, two down
food in your bellies
enough water to drown!

In this time of uncertainty
of financial stress
Countries are toiling
people earn less.

No work for the young
so they waste away
nothing to do
by night or day.

Crime at its highest
they take what they see
no care for the law
nothings for free!

When will it end
when we are all dead?
so we need to get a grip
and listen to what's said.

Financial strain, families on the poverty line, the rich getting richer, fat cats all over the World, kids facing high unemployment, nothing to do, no one taking on apprenticeships because the Government are cutting jobs, were will it all end? do we see a rosy future? I think not.

DAILY POEM " A SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS"

What's going on in this World
unhappiness and unrest
no matter were you are
it has been sent to test.

Civil wars rue the day
Governments try to control
but people are not lying down
or taking a leisurely stroll.

At home the news isnt rosy
as unemployment strikes a new high
while reforms on benefits strengthen
all you can do is sigh.

Money is getting scarce
families hit the breadline
coming nearer is Christmas
not all will have a good time.

So with civil war and financial ruin
Countries can take no more
its about time something was done
to try to even the score.

I see the World crumbling
as the Years float on by
unless we take a stand
at least give it a try.

Soon there will be nothing left
to leave humanity alive
we need to have unity
in order that we strive.

Every time you pick up a newspaper, watch the tv or listen to the radio its all doom and gloom, countries in the brink of Civil wars, financial ruin, and every disaster we can imagine.
We are the ones who make the World turn and we are responsible for its outcome, and the way we are going it could mean the end sooner than we think..

DAILY POEM "THE MAN BAG"

I cant go anywhere without you
I need you in my life
feel naked when your not around me
your as close as my dear wife.

I fill you with lots of goodies
trapped in darkness for hours
you keep my bananas fresh
and protect my food from showers.

My man bag is such a treasure
I take good care of it
I'm careful what I put inside you
try not to fill you with s"£$t.

As the deodorant rattles with pleasure
the pens all jump for joy
you can only go with a man to work
not a girl or a little boy.

I hope you last forever
into my golden age
and if anyone decides to slag you
I will blow up in a rage.

More and more these days men have "man bags" usually a satchel, we take it everywhere we go, especially to work, this is a bit of fun for any guy who carries a man bag :)

DAILY POEM "CHILDREN IN NEED" 2011

As we near the eventful night
when charity comes alive
making money for our children
to help them flourish and thrive.

Celebrities donate their time
to entertain us on the night
the public raise millions
even those out of sight.

In a World of money being scarce
when we face financial strain
this night brings out the generous
seeing sunshine through the rain.

The Great British Public are ready
to make our children smile
by donating what they can afford
it makes it all worthwhile.

For those who spend their time
in this worthwhile cause
we take our hats off to you
and give you a round of applause.

Children shouldn't be starving
in this day and age
or brought up in poverty
at a very early stage.

Money isn't everything
but we need it to live each day
but for those who have nothing
they do not have a say!

Dig deep fellow humanity
even if it is only a small amount
your money is doing a great deed
on this our children count.

Well folks its that time of Year, Children in need, a time for us all to dig deep , a time to help our kids get a fighting chance in life. Money is tight, we are all suffering these days, but there are always people worse off than YOU, so be generous this Year people, let the World see we look after our own, as we do Year in Year out.

"REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY" LEST WE NEVER FORGET.

Remembrance Sunday, a day when we pay homage to the men and women who have fought and died for the freedom of our Country in every conflict.
The Service was outstanding, the Survivors of WW2 led the parade proudly showing their flags in tribute, the scene was set, the military marched in precision, the navy, the cadets all of the armed forces , including Public Services such as the Police, fire-fighters, and ambulance crews came today to show respect.
The reefs were laid in the church grounds.

DAILY POEM "YOU DO ME PROUD"

Private Stephanie Manson.

You watch them grow
from a tiny seed
their first steps
a mouth to feed.

Watch them get educated
be there when they hurt
keep boys at bay
when they try to flirt.

Be their banker
drive them around
keep them polite
safe and sound.

When they mature
you are still proud
putting up with music
that's very loud.

You hope they do well
in their later years
be there to comfort them
dry those tears.

Life may not always work
as they live day by day
but give them the power
to have their say.

At the end of the day
you love your own
even though sometimes
you grump and groan.

The choice was made
and here we are
joining the British Army
has raised the bar.

I am  a VERY proud Father, my daughter has joined the British Territorial Army, she decided this was going to be her career path, still in the early days of training, she has passed All of her tests thus far, she works very hard, All the family are very proud of her achievements and will support her throughout her career.

DAILY POEM "CALL ME MISTER VAIN"

He glares into the mirror
admiring what he sees
just out of the shower
feeling the "bees knees"

Up an hour early
to go through his ritual tasks
he would even forfeit breakfast
if any one asks!

His hair must be perfect
as he dawns his aftershave gel
spent hours at the mirror
only he can tell.

Then comes the straighteners
they should be heated by now
it looks like he is running late
his boss will "have a cow"

Standing at the mirror
he sweeps and sorts his hair
without a care in the World
knowing no one will stop and stare.

One hour and five minutes later
looking good and ready to roll
stepping out the front door
succeeding with his goal.

These days Boys/men are very concerned by the way they look, so much so they take as long, if not longer than a woman to get ready these days, spending ages in front of mirrors until they get the look 100 percent bang on, bet there are lots of fights as to who gets to the mirror first..

DAILY POEM "MISS NOBODY"

She walks the streets of London
Her hair matted, straw dry
a face yellow and jaundiced
It would make a fellow human cry.

No one dared approach her
She scowled then roared like a bear
This was her defence for survival
gullible, no defence, unfair.

Begging at every street corner
trying to survive each day
no one ever communicated
nothing they could say.

She walked all day, slept at night
One eye open at all times
did this girl deserve this life?
A lass involved with crimes?

An existence going sadly unnoticed
Everyone would pass her in disgust
How could anyone live this way?
in the depths of despair being thrust..

Labelled without even knowing her
Assumptions made by the way she appeared
Maybe the reason she lived this way
Could be something in her past she feared?

No one bothered, no one cared
as she ploughed on with her life
no kind word, no respect
just a life full of despair and strife.

She still walks the streets of London
Growling at everyone in sight
Probably she will die in her current demise
no stamina, self respect, or fight.

More and more each day the homeless list grows, some choose that way of life, whilst others have no choice.Young kids being forced on the streets for all reasons, trying to get away from abuse, or parents who simply do not care.

DAILY POEM "LIVING IN A NEGATIVE WORLD"

Do you see YOU
as I see you
broken and scarred
feeling blue.

You wake each day
negativity rules your head
feelings of hatred
wishing you were dead.

Black clouds above you
follow you all day
barking and growling
need to have your way.

Never listen to anyone
you are always right
making things dark
when they should be bright.

Your way or no way
opinions never count
the glass half full
no numbers to count.

No respect for you
the World is a mess
harder and harder
your worth becomes less.

Cannot find love
no one will come near
your inability to love
you cannot shed a tear.

When the time comes
when you depart this World
your bitterness unfolds
deepness unfurled.

Alone in death
as you were in life
you never knew goodness
just trouble and strife.

There are so many negative people out there today, people who only see black, people who never see the real life others have, their negative existence rules their heart, which makes them who they are.
Fortunately they are in minority, but we come across these people in our daily lives.

Do you know someone  the above poem describes?

DAILY POEM " HALLOWEEN" A TIME OF FEAR

Ghosts, Ghouls and Goblins
are set to come out tonight
horror will unfold
in the dead of night.

Thunder and lightning
ravage the darkened skies
pumpkins burn all night long
ready for a surprise.

Kids dressed like demons
ready for trick or treat
hands like razors
large webbed feet.

Knocking on the doors
of  terrified humans within
screaming at the mere thought
whilst banging on the bin.

Sweets are given freely
to avoid the horror outside
its better to give in at once
don't bother with your pride.

Witches gather in covens
brewing up their spells
hob goblins at their side
rising from deepened wells.

Sleep is an issue
on this spooky of nights
everyone at the ready
to give each other frights.

Stay safe on this horror fest
be with an adult or two
enjoy the tradition of shock
as it will come to YOU.

This is the time of year when spooks take over, its really cool to see all the local kids dressed up in all sorts of guises to terrorise the neighbourhood on Halloween.
Like all traditions it is not as popular here in the UK as it is in the USA, but there are lots of kids who look forward to this time of Year, be safe kids and always go trick or treating with an adult or two.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL MY READERS.

DAILY POEM "GOODBYE FAITHFUL FRIEND" URIAH R.I.P

R.I.P URIAH "GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN"

It's time to say goodbye
to the master of nature trails
from young to old
he loved chasing tails.

A big softy was he
loved by all he knew
his runs were famous
through the grass he would often chew.

A beautifully natured dog
taking care of his master
through the nature trails he walked
sometimes running faster.

Digging holes was his game
or lying on the porch
Uriah you will be missed
we will always carry a torch.

Barking in and out of trees
chasing all he could
jumping over huge tree trunks
as high as he could.

Meet your old friends
in nature in another place
enjoy your new life
glorify the chase.

Goodbye faithful friend
run free in your new domain
never worrying about the climate
or the pouring rain.

Sadly, my friend informed me today that her faithful loving dog Uriah passed away in his sleep, he had a good life, mentioned in all Gerardines  nature trails, his antics kept many readers engulfed in a trail of natures beauty almost on a daily basis, it is always sad when we lose pets close to our heart, it is painful, you feel a great loss.

DAILY POEM " TORN EMOTIONS"

Torn between emotions
scared to live
nightmares real
your soul can't forgive.

Strong feelings of fear
forgetting the task
to continue or not?
wearing the mask.

Being a shell
fragile, tender
turning to booze
daily bender!

Drowning reality
knowing what you are
falling off a stool
in a seedy Bar.

Wake in the morning
feeling sadness
wondering what you did
and was it bad?

Reflecting the reasons
you do what you do
a cog in the wheel
tightening the screw.

It won't go away
eating you inside
no self guidance
infallible pride.

Will you ever be happy?
make your own way?
maybe God will help you
lecture you ,and say?

Its the way you are
try to survive
grow and flourish
come alive.

The pain is great
living a lie
sometimes the only answer
is to give up and die!

Your conscience won't let you
temptations are near
your body succumbs
and here grows the fear.

The padlock falls
on the barbed wire gate
happiness will come
if you patiently wait.

If you love yourself
others will follow
the hole fills up
and is no longer hollow.

The sun shines again
you have a reason to "be"
like flowering shrubs
and the old Elm tree.

Do not give up
when emotions are high
at least in this lifetime
give it a try!

A torturous fight against substance abuse... at the end of the day, who wins?

DAILY POEM " YOU ARE MY WORLD"

You capture my heart
you sing my song
I've never felt scared
since you came along.

Your smile melts my heart
your presence is dear
your face is evident
in a fountain that's clear.

The voice of an Angel
you lighten my life
your strength is my solace
you conquer my strife.

I watch you sleep
happy, content
I recapture our youth
Its heaven sent.

I thank the Lord
for bringing you here
you wipe my brow
from a happy tear.

Sleeping soundly
I hold you tight
my inspiration
a pure delight.

Never taking for granted
the person you are
sweet and gentile
angelic by far.

So sleep like a baby
tomorrow is another day
when our lives will be fulfilled
as long as you stay.

For all the lovers out there ;)

DAILY POEM "REMEMBER REMEMBER THE 5TH OF NOVEMBER"

It is getting near that time of Year
when bangs and bombs appear
kids throwing fireworks in the air
no fret ,worry, or fear.

Pensioners are terrorised
animals live in fear
from careless handling
this time of Year.

Why not go to an organized display?
for a couple of pounds at most
you will experience a wonderful show
and be as warm as toast.

A huge bonfire with a guy
burns at a safe distance
kids all love the spectacular views
desirable in an instance.

The colours of the fireworks
are beautiful to admire
still the bonfire goes full blaze
burning sparklers far from the fire.

Spare a though for the poor animals
especially your best friend
the amplified noise of the bangers
drive them round the bend.

There is no need to be in danger
if fireworks are handled with care
don't be a clown or an idiot
don't try to frighten or scare.

Every Year thousands are hurt
leading to badly burned or worse
in the wrong hands Fireworks can be
a terrifying deadly curse.

Also spare a thought for Emergency Services
who work very hard to save YOU
from Fire-fighters and Ambulances
twenty four hours with a skeleton crew.

Here we are again folks nearing bonfire night, This is a time of Year when the kids love fireworks, why not go to an Organized display, the kids will love it, the adults are responsible for the fireworks and the chance of anyone getting hurt is a million to one.
We also have to take into consideration our pets, especially Dogs, they go demented with fireworks going off and often cower under beds to get away from the noise.
There are various aids these days which calm your pet down, but why go to that expense when you can go to a Display, for a couple of pounds it is value for money and the kids love it, and adults as well.

Be safe this fireworks night and let the adults take control.

DAILY POEM "YOUNG AND VULNERABLE"

Amy was just fourteen
when she decided to run
her life was insufferable
never knowing any fun.

Her parents abused her daily
mentally she was drained
she had to break the monotony
relationships badly strained.

She felt she was unloved
used as a slave all day
her opinions never mattered
she never got her say.

Badly advised by a friend
to make off and never come back
seek her fortune in this World
new days would never be black!

Vulnerable and lonely
nothing was keeping her here
she packed whatever she could
excited without any fear.

Amy jumped on a bus
unperturbed where it would go
dreamily gazing out the window
finally she could grow.

Landing in a strange Town
she never knew a soul
walking till her feet ached
dying to meet her goal.

She was befriended by a guy
three times her age or more
he gave her food and shelter
when he went he locked the door.

Vulnerable and innocent
Amy took what she could
he seemed so kind at first
she thought he did her good.

Then things started to change
he became possessively weird
she wanted to get out of there
the worst was to come she feared.

He brought some other guys
into her little place
she heard them whisper softly
but never saw a face.

Men as old as her granddad
passed money to guy
by now she suddenly realised
it was her they wanted to buy.

Amy didn't know what to do
she had to escape this place
but there were no windows in the room
just all walls in this space.

As the old guy approached her door
she froze in fear of her life
thinking she had escaped from abuse
and now engulfed in strife.

She made a dash for the door
as the guy let someone in
this was her only chance
the only way to win.

Amy escaped with her life
stopping a Policeman on her way
cold, scared, agitated
she couldn't find the words to say.

Social Services were called
Amy was taken into care
safe in a new environment
no more pain she would have to bare.

This is fictional, or is it? so many young people boys and girls, run away from their horrible existence to find a better life, only to be led into a false sense of security in the mean bad World, they are taken in by adults who have one motive and that is to turn them into child prostitutes, this happens Worldwide, even in the UK.

Do you know of anyone like Amy?

DAILY POEM "LIFE IS A ROUTINE"

You wake up in the morning
you feel inspired
even though the night before
you felt so tired.

Days can be long and drawn out
especially at work
sometimes things go wrong
you feel like a Burk.

In the middle of the day
you want to retire
get home from work
maybe sit by the fire.

Dinner comes and goes
then its time to relax
forget about the day
and your income tax.

Pour a glass of wine
clear your mind
look forward to a time
when you can unwind.

When it comes to bedtime
the end of another day
soothed and comforted
ready to hit the hay.

Another day comes
repetitive from the last
common de ja vu
coming too fast.

The life we lead is hectic
