Demetrius called for his Mother
Wondering were she could be
His eyes were glazed and fuzzy
It took all of his strength to see.
The last thing he remembered
Was falling beside the hat stand
Not knowing what planet he was on
Or even if he was on land.
When he awoke it was daylight
The sun was strong and hot
The curtains were swaying slowly
Then landing back in their spot.
After several minutes he got up
Slowly making it to his mums room
He couldn't think of Lily for now
His face was full of doom.
He opened the bedroom door
Scared of what he might find
He went over to the darkened window
To open up the blind.
Julia's bed was empty
A sense of relief hit him hard
If nothing else for Demetrius
This was a winning card.
He searched the house in vain
Not finding a soul anywhere
It seemed as if the house was empty
As if no one had ever lived there.
