DAILY POEM "INN OF HAPPINESS" PART 28
Lucky had been through the works
Cruelty he knew as a pup
His new master was lovingly warm
His life went on and up.
Always looking haggard ageing and tired
Lucky was still very alert
His head held high proud as punch
His nose in the sky hard and pert.
Nearly gone twelve a lifetime in dogs
Lucky could still run fast
He could chase the birds flying in the sky
Never knowing how long it would last.
He took his prize back to the camp
Demetrius stirred in his sleep
Lily was sound asleep by the fire
never producing a peep.
Lucky settled down at his master’s side
Chewing the prize he found
This indestructible living legend
Was an amazing old prized hound.
