DAILY POEM "HAITI"

Disaster struck with nowhere to hide
Mother Nature decided to turn
The earth shaken damage inevitable
no one could escape or spurn.

Needless deaths rising each day
properties reduced to rubble
minding your own business in everyday life
should not lead to this trouble.

everyone is fighting to support these people
as aid makes its way to the sick
medicine, clothes, everything required
needed to be delivered very quick.

No one could have guessed this would happen
alas we cannot forsee ahead
or we would prepare for such devastation
to save so many dead.

Give heartily friends cash is needed
it will take years to repair this debacle
humans are worth more than any amount of money
so support is required to tackle.

Bodies taken from homes, lying in the street
heartbreaking beyond any imagination
children crying, old folks helpless
bewildrered in their own fascination.

One never hears of poor Countries until there is disaster
we think only of our own little place
when things like this strike without any notice
theres no difference in creed or race.

Good for the Governments racing to the rescue
Charities working harder than ever
we pull together as humanity should
it all comes together ,how clever.

This is tragic, its tragic when any natural disaster happens but the amount of people wo were killed or injured is out of this world, please give generously any way you can to help this cause, the Country was already poor before the disaster its 1 million times worse now...

What are YOU doing to help the cause? would love to hear from you.

  4. SWEET WILLIAM, THIS IS SUCH A POWERFUL POEM AND THE PEOPLE THERE HAVE BEEN LOST IN THE THOUSANDS. WHEN WATCHING THE BUILDINGS COLLAPSE AS THEY DID, IT WAS LIKE SEEING THE TWIN TOWERS AS THEY COLLAPSED AND BROUGHT BACK MANY MEMORIES TO MANY. YES, THEY DO NEED HELP AND IT IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE POOREST COUNTRIES OR ISLANDS IN THE WORLD. THANK YOU FOR SUCH A DESCRIPTIVE AND HEART-FELT POEM. IT CERTAINLY MAKES US ALL THINK ABOUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT IN THE WORLD. PERHAPS IF PEOPLE THOUGHT OF ONE ANOTHER INSTEAD OF ONLY THEMSELVES AND GREED AND LINING THEIR POCKETS, THEY WOULDN'T BE SO QUICK TO DO SO. IT COULD HAPPEN ANYWHERE! BLESSINGS, DEAR BILLY...LOVE & HUGS, HELEN XXXX

  5. This is so sad Billy. A very powerful poem, I pray every day for these people. I agree with you this is a poor country and they really do need everyone's help. I was telling Larry this morning if I could I would go over there and help, but my health won't let me so I do what I do best and that is pray for them. Thanks for having a big heart that is made out of gold Billy.

  6. '...minding your own business in everyday life
should not lead to this trouble...'

Those lines really summed up the situation William. A lovely poem about some people who really didn't need this to happen.

We are all so lucky to live where we do and in the style we do, even if we don't always appreciate what we've got.

The least we can do is help.
