DAILY POEM "BORN TOO SOON"

The day you were born changed our Lives
from the start it was touch and go
entering this world too early
no time to manouvre or grow.

Watching you lay in your little glass box
surrounded by people who care
you did not ask to be born this soon
sometimes life just isn't fair.

We long to hold you to say its ok
the strength of our love will show through
Mummy and Daddy love you so much
lives will be fullfilled having you!

So grow little Angel, fight to survive
we need you by our side
your gonna be loved, more than you can imagine
our baby, we will show with pride.

Family and friends have been by our side
praying for you all day long
flowers and cards in abundance come in
as Dad sings his favourite song.

Watching you move in your glass domain
makes us so proud of you
hampered with tubes to help you along
it makes Mom and Daddy so blue.

To be positive in this scenario isnt so easy
as you watch your child reach out his hand
wishing you could take their place in the incubator
its unbearable to cope with or understand.

Our faith will endure this troublesome time
we are covered by the Lord himself
so much love shing down apon you
courage, goodness, and health.

So here you are now thanks to the medical crew
running around ,forgetting all of the past
a healthy little child survived all the odds
your new life has arrived and will last.

Too many children are being born prematurely these days, its heartbreaking to watch them struggle to survive when they entered the World too early, imagine how it must feel for the parents watching their child in an incubator, unable to hold them and tell them everything will be alright, this poem is based on such a Family whop did endure this, for obvious reasons no names have been mentioned but he will know what this poem is about. It tells you to have faith, be positive and in the end everything is going to be ok, happy ending in his case, but it isnt always a happy ending...Also without the efforts of the Medical staff who dedicate themselves to their work, we would see fewer children around today to tell the tale.

do you think you could have coped? have you been in this situation? would love to hear from you.

Picture courtest of google and does not represent the baby in this poem...

  1. This is an excellent poem Billy. It breaks my heart to see a baby struggling that is born premature. But Jesus is standing over them holding them in His arms. I do believe that.

  4. So sweet! I hope the little one will be healthy and happy screaming at the tops of her lungs. Favorite line, so full of emotion:
“ Watching you move in your glass domain
makes us so proud of you”

  6. BILLY, THIS WAS SO LOVELY AND SO TRUE. SUPERB IN YOUR WRITING, AS USUAL...THIS COULD HAVE BEEN ME, ONLY IN 1933 THE EQUIPMENT WASN'T AVAILABLE FOR WHAT THERE IS NOW. IT WAS TOUCH AND GO, BUT BOTH MAMA AND I MADE IT AND HERE I AM STILL HERE TODAY. THIS WAS SO WARMLY WRITTEN AND YOU KNOW, THE TWINS DAVID COOPER AND ISABELLE GRACE WERE ALSO BORN EARLY AND HAVE HAD SOME PROBLEMS BUT SEEM TO BE OUTGROWING THEM. I LOVED THIS POEM AND YOUR WONDERFUL ABILITY TO PUT IT ALL TOGETHER WITH SUCH STRENGTH AND KNOWLEDGE. WONDERFULLY DONE. BLESS YOU DEAR SWEET WILLIAM.
